View submission

Individual quiz submission can be viewed by clicking on the eye icon under 'View' column in the respective row for every student.

Normal submission

Normal submissions are the final submissions submitted by the student through SAFE Mobile App.
A normal submission can be In-envelope or Out-of-envelope.


In/out-of-envelope submission

Envelope

The envelope is the abstraction of the physical envelope used by instructor/TA to collect all answer papers at the end of a regular paper exam

In-Envelope

All submissions accepted for grading are placed in-envelope

Out-of-Envelope

  • An out-of-envelope submission is not considered for grading purposes
  • The marks obtained by an out-of-envelope submission do not appear in the grade sheet
  • Out-of-envelope submissions also do not show up on the manual grading page

Moving in/out of envelope

Instructor/TA can move a submission in/out of envelope easily by clicking the double-arrow in the submissions tab

Kinds of out-of-envelope submissions

Late upload of on-time submission
    • The student submitted the quiz in his/her app on time, but due to some network issue, the upload was delayed by more than 5 min.
    • These can generally be safely moved in-envelope, i.e. accepted for grading

Late upload of late submission
    • The student submitted the quiz in his/her app after 1-min of designated submit time.
    • Also, the submission was uploaded more than 5 mins after the quiz ended
    • Teacher/TA has to exercise judgement in moving such submissions in-envelope and thus accepting the submission for grading
System replicate
    • Due to slow network/server, the app submitted twice or more; such submissions can be safely ignored by the teacher


Backup submission

Backup/Partial submissions happen every 4 minutes during the quiz.
